UNESCO Observatories

UNESCO Arts Education Observatories act as clearing houses, collecting, analyzing, re-packaging and disseminating resources on arts education, with the objective of supporting advocacy processes and influencing policy making on Arts Education.

Following the UNESCO Expert Symposium on Arts Education in Asia "Measuring the effects of arts in education" held in Hong Kong in January 2004, the Office of the UNESCO Regional Adviser for Culture in Asia and the Pacific produced the "Asia-Pacific Action Plan" (previously "Action Plan Asia"). This document describes the strategy for establishing Arts Education Observatories in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Arts Education observatories list:

Melbourne University (Australia)
National Institute of Education (Singapore)
The Hong-Kong School of Creativity (HKSAR, China)
ALMOCA Inter-Cultural Creative Education Observatory (Kazakhstan)
