Content of Arts Education in Tajikistan

Theater and entertainment organizations
There are 34 theatrical and entertainment organizations in Tajikistan. The activities of theatrical and entertainment organizations cover a very broad scope in content and directions. Their activities are conventionally arranged in two directions: traditional and modern (academic). The first direction reflects centuries of traditional circus - dorboz, pochubon, maskaraboz (clowns), askiyachi and theater arts - shohnomahoni, qisagui,(storytellers) etc., and operates with representing the circus of folk groups and folk theaters. The second relates to the activities of academic and dramatic theaters, the state circus and by contents they represent the modern period.

It should be noted that only during the period of Tajikistan independence it was opened the Tajik Conservatory. The establishment of an independent music school helped in improvement of music education system and a network of concert organizations. In 2010 it’s adopted a special state program on development of professional music in Tajikistan.

The choreographic art in Tajikistan is the oldest area of spiritual culture, which has its roots within the history of world civilization. In its historical development, it has faced with many ups and downs reflecting the variety of events experienced by the people.

The Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to literary education due to powerful force of literature as a component of the artistic and aesthetic education. It is known that the Tajik-Persian classical poetry is a storehouse of morality, ethical and aesthetic morality, and the kind of moral code of all time with the depth of thought, wisdom, harmony, presentation style and philosophy. This is the basis of literary education in modern society of Tajikistan. The poems of classical poets are memorized from early childhood.

The media plays an important role in strengthening national unity. The publications, radio and television are the major sources of information in the country. Freedom of speech is guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan (Article 30), and by the law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On press and media.”

Tajik studio shoots artistic and documentary chronicle films and duplicates the works of foreign editors in this sphere. The favorite films of tajik producers “Dohunda”, “I met the girl”, “Fate of the poet”, “Zumrat”, “Rudaki”, “Rustam and Sukhrob”, “The Legend of Siyavush”, “Runway” are remains favorite among population.

Decorative and applied arts
Nowadays in Tajik land are seen the development of such kinds of arts and crafts as: embroidery of usual clothing - dresses, skull-caps, belt scarves, coats, the beloved traditional carpets and suzani, chodar (davri), various curtains and window curtains for the home environment - zardevor , oinahalta, ruijo, borpush etc. The development of golden embroidery - zarduzi is going by its way. The seamstress creates rich ornaments on the robes, belts, camisoles, skullcaps, purse, shoes and etc.

Visual Arts
In Tajikistan it’s preserved the cultural monuments of the ancient Central Asian settled “eastern Iranian population” and the “nomadic tribes”. The location of populations in trade routes between East and West played very important role in development of arts in Tajikistan. The ancient population of Tajikistan has made great contribution to the arts of Bactria, Kushan, Sogdian, Tokharistan and Fergana, the Tajiks of the Middle Ages – in the arts of Samanids and Timurids.

Photographic art
At the present stage, it’s rapidly developing art of photography. Regular exhibition draws a huge number of spectators that watch with a great interest to movement of this form of art. In this field thrives work of such masters of the arts of photography as Isobaev Nurullo, Zaur Dahte, Yorov Shuhratdzhon and Mahammadzhonov Maksudzhon.
