Content of Arts Education in the Republic of Moldova

Plastic arts
Plastic arts education means a guided process for creating capabilities for art communication and creating plastic art images. The basic aim of the plastic arts education is training of a creative personality, that is receptive to the beauty in life and arts, with capabilities for acquiring plastic arts values



 

Hanidicrafts
The rich heritage of handicrafts inherited from our ancestors speaks about the originality of aesthetic vision, wisdom and technical and art skill of Moldovans. Currently, the handicrafts of our ancestors are acquiring their role as national cultural value. They serve as reference for a continuity of traditions and are used by both folklore artisans and by some plastic artists in their creation. The main genres of Moldovan handicrafts are as follows: domestic weaving, national costume, embroidery, crochet, pottery, woodcarving, straw, corn husk, and wicker twining.

Music
An important part of the national arts education is musical education, which is carried out in a formal, institutional framework in the schools and lyceums of the Republic of Moldova. Musical education has become an educational discipline, which is mandatory within the general pre-university education. It is studied one hour per week. The concept of musical education is based on European century long research and cultural traditions, theory of musicians-researchers, teachers, modern psychologists. Educational Competence Standards and Contents Standards have been developed. The teaching-learning strategies are translated into teaching materials for the discipline: music textbooks, methodology guides, music books, CDs with a musical repertoire for audition and performance. The abovementioned elements are comprised in the Musical Education Curriculum for pre-university education (grades I - VIII).

Dance
In a narrow sense, dance education content includes: the objectives and tasks, knowledge and choreographic skills and value attitude at the level of perception, performance, creativity. The content itself includes all types of choreography art (classic dance, popular, sports, modern, contemporary etc.), as well as methods for learning choreography art at a professional and amateur levels.

Drama
The cultural values are most specifically and realistically fulfilled in dramatic art practice, where common ground connects various subjects of beauty. Theatre covers all: word, music, flexibility, light, colour, movement etc. Various disciplines do not lose their own identity but, while alternating in a harmonious combination, they offer tension, impact, “stimulate joy, strength and intelligence”. Therefore while modernizing education in dramatic arts the complexity of the dramatic art phenomenon and modern social requirements must be taken into account.

Cinematography
Decoding the secret language of image has now become a way of adapting to people’s requirements of modern society, a gateway to knowledge and one of the working tools that is becoming increasingly necessary. The importance of developing visual and cinema arts can not be ignored, especially if we refer to the current state of society; the transition from one type of society to another, which entails not only an economic crisis, but also a crisis of the value system. The vortex created by the trend to eliminate old values and introduce new ones is likely to promote pseudo-values or even non-values. The teenagers are the most vulnerable to this confusion of values, since they are in the process of developing their personality, attitudes towards self, towards the world and life in general.

Literary arts education
Mother tongue and literature study in the Republic of Moldova, at any educational level is an opportunity for aesthetic education, its impact increasing gradually and concentrically throughout the educational paths. As any form or type of education, it is based on a certain curriculum.
