The International Roundtable Discussion on Arts Education took place in Moscow

The International Roundtable on “Problems and Prospects of Arts Education in the Context of Contemporary Culture” took place on 25 March 2014 in Moscow. The event held in the Scientific Pedagogical Library named after K.D. Ushinsky of the Russian Academy of Education (RAE). The Roundtable was organized by the Institute of Arts Education of the RAE, the Scientific Pedagogical Library named after K.D. Ushinsky of the RAE, Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, with the consultative support of the UNESCO Moscow Office for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova and the Russian Federation.

6th World Summit on Arts and Culture

The 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture will be jointly hosted by the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) and the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CNCA), the Chilean Government’s entity in charge of implementing public policies for cultural development. The theme for the 6th World Summit is Creative Times: new models for cultural development. The summit will address how globalisation, shifts in social and economic development and new forms of communication are generating an array of challenges and opportunities within the cultural field, with an impact transcending the artistic realm.

International Children's Forum "This world - ours! "

From 10 to 14 October in several cities of the Netherlands the International Children's Forum, “This world - ours!” carried out.

In the field of arts education, UNESCO uses one of the main approach “Learning through the arts/culture” that demonstrates how to use a form of artistic expression and cultural resources and practices as a tool for learning.

Music for Peace

Participants of the charitable «Music for Peace» project played chamber music on the 29th of September and the 3th of October in the Moscow Conservatory. 

As a good example of the project promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue the «Music for Peace» was supported by the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM PRO & CONTRA MEDIA CULTURE

Pro&Contra international symposium of media culture was held on 16-19 October 2013 at the central exhibition hall «Manege», Moscow. The organizers of the symposium are «Manege» and MediaArtLab with the support of Mikhail Prokhorov foundation, Prohelvecia, the Cervantes Institute. Curators are Olga Shishko and Andrey Shcherbenok. 

InSEA World Congress 2014 - "Diversity through Art"

InSEA 34th World Congress will be held on 7 - 11 July, 2014 in Melbourne, Australia. The world famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Melbourne’s sporting and cultural icon has been purposefully selected as the venue for this triennial world art congress to provide a stimulating backdrop for exploring and examining the theme: Diversity through Art – Change, Continuity, Context.

International Jazz Day 30 April 2013

On 30 April, 2013, the Faculty of Music and the UNESCO Chair "Music education throughout life" of Moscow State Pedagogical University organized a concert, dedicated to the International Jazz Day - 30 April. The concert was held in the center of education № 1158 South Ossetia, Moscow (NOU "Successor") concert of students and graduates, the International Day of jazz.

World summit on arts education - polylogue II, 13 - 17 May 2013, Munich and Wildbad kreuth, Germany

The World Alliance for Arts Education (WAAE) together with the International Network for Research in Arts Education (INRAE) and the European Network of civil servants working in the field of Arts and Cultural Education (ACEnet) held a global gathering of arts and cultural educators, hosted by the German Federation for Arts Education and Cultural Learning (BKJ) and UNESCO Chair in Arts and Culture in Education, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
