The 22nd International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk was held on 11-15 July 2013. This year the festival was held in a new format. It was more concise, and the program was more spectacular both for the live audience and TV audience.

Organized by Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, the first festival was held in Vitebsk on 18 July 1992. It was designed to introduce city residents and guests to Slavonic song folklore.

This year one of the key events of the festival was a solemn opening ceremony. The concert was  structured into two parts. The first was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Summer Amphitheatre; the second was a kind of a welcoming message from festivals held in other cities.

The solemn opening ceremony featurde Edita Piekha, Kristina Orbakaite, Yelena Vayenga, Dima Bilan (Russia), Alyona Lanskaya, Anatoly Yarmolenko, Inna Afanasieva (Belarus), Tina Karol (Ukraine), Roza Rymbayeva (Kazakhstan), Al Bano, In-Grid (Italy), the Gipsy Kings (France), winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 Emmelie de Forest (Denmark).

For the first time the opening ceremony featured presentations of participants of adult and junior song contests (22nd international  pop song contest Vitebsk 2013 and 11th international junior music contest Vitebsk 2013).
