Young artists conquered Vienna

Vienna met young Armenian and Russian musicians with bright sunny weather. Old friends – members of the “New Names” program of both Armenia and Russia, met at the Vienna International Airport.

The next three days were filled with concerts, walks in the beautiful Austrian capital, with visit to the Belvedere museum, House of Music, etc.

On the first day of the tour the young performers performed at the “Armenia” center of the Embassy of Armenia in Austria. Young Armenian and Russian musicians presented a concert program consisting of masterpieces of European, Russian and Armenian composers. From the first minutes the hall was filled with sincere and faithful attitude, inevitable for young, as well as a special sense of mastery with which the program was presented.

The second concert took place at the “Russian Centre of Science and Culture” of Vienna.
the final performance of "New Names" situated in the beautiful “Ehrbar” Hall of the Vienna’s Prayner Conservatory. That day Armenian and Russian young artists shared the scene with their Austrian “colleagues” - winners of the «Young masters» Austrian project. The concert was attended by political and public figures, musicians and artists, journalists and music fans.

The festive evening was kicked off with welcoming address of H.E. Dr. Arman Kirakossian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Austria. He briefly presented the activities of the “New Names” in both Russia and Armenia, highly assessing the merits of the leaders of the Russian side I.N.Voronova - the founder of the Foundation and renowned Denis Matsuev - the current leader. From the Armenian side Dr. Kirakossian marked the invaluable contribution of the Armenian director Mrs. Silva Mekinyan. Ambassador said that the joint project came true as a result of the joint efforts of the Russian and Armenian embassies, as well as the "European Cultural Support Fund", "Austrian Railways" and the Austrian-Armenian community. He highlighted and thanked Ms. Karine Harutyunyan - Project Manager of the “Classical Young Stars in Vienna”.

Young Armenian, Russian and Austrian musicians performed works of the great classics - Bach, Saint-Saens, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Khachaturian, Piazzolla and others. The concert evening concluded with the sounds of the Armenian “zurna” (Flute) under the endless applause enthusiastic audience.

“Young performers fully manifested themselves. They the best introducers of the art and culture of our peoples, as they captivate any audience with their sincerity and dedication”, - these were the grateful words of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Austria Dr. Arman Kirakossian.
