Repercussions of the Armenian-French Orchestra

 Repercussions of the Armenian-French OrchestraUnder the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in May 2016 the concerts of the Armenian-French Orchestra took place in Armenia.  The organizers of the project were Yerevan Secondary Specialized Music School After Peter Tchaikovsky and Romans Conservatory of France.

 

The orchestra consisted of 95 from 10 to 15 years-old-students, representing the Secondary music school after Tchaikovsky, as well as Stepanakert's Music College after Sayat-Nova and Romans Conservatory.

On April 18th the first concert of Armenian-French children's orchestra took place in the Ashtarak's House of Culture. The works of Aram Khachaturian, Arno Babadjanian, Stepan Shakaryan, Aram Satyan, Hector Berlioz, Gabriel Faure, Camille Saint–Saens, Morice Ravel. The orchestra performed with conduction of the honored artist of the Republic of Armenia - Ruben Asatryan. The performing soloists were winners of national and international competitions Ludwig Mariott (cello, France), Levon Chatikyan (duduk, France), Ani Aghadjanyan (singing, Armenia), Andranik Aghadjanyan (cello, Armenia), Diana Adamyan (violin, Armenia).

The orchestra had first concert on April 19th of this year in the Gyumri’s State Dramatic Theatre after V.Atchemyan and the second - on 22 of April at “Aram Khachaturian” Concert Hall. Within the project on 20 and 21st of April workshop for younger Armenian musicians at the secondary musical specialized school after P. Tchaikovsky, under conduction of Taron Karapetyan and Levon Chatikyan, were organised.

It is worth to remind, that the first appearance of the orchestra on the stage took place in France in 2015. The band had performances in several French cities such as Romans, Lion, Valance, Saint-Etienne. The concert program entirely consisted of the works of Armenian composers such as Komitas, Khachaturian, Mirzoyan, Harutyunyan, Altunyan, Sharafyan, Satyan and others.
