In the second category, the competition for the first stage took place among school choirs, creative centers, spiritual educational centers of Armenian Apostolic Church "Hayordats Tun", cultural and social organizations. So-called ‘’compulsory’’ pieces were written especially for young choristers.  The authors of these special opuses appeared composers, well-known in Armenia, masters of choral arts Stepan Shakaryan, Vardan Adzhemyan and Vard Manukyan.

The jury included professors of Choral Conduction Department of Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas. Following the competitive auditions of the first round for participants from all around Armenia, the jury admitted 35 choirs for the second round, 18 of which became holders of various awards in three categories. According to the remark of the Chairman of the organizing committee of the competition and the Chairman of the Armenian Music Society, honorable artist professor Mr. David Ghazaryan, the competition aims at the development and promotion of choral art, encouraging children and youth choirs, as well as assistance in the field of art and aesthetic education of the younger generation.
