Half-century anniversary

Anniversary events of Yerevan’s Music School named after S. Jrbashyan took part in the Chamber Music Hall named after Komitas, opened with a festive concert by young singers-soloists of the school and National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.

 

The orchestra was conducted by Harutyun Arzumanyan. 50 years ago in Yerevan’s working district the 8-th Children music school of Yerevan was founded and in 1977 was named after Armenia’s honored artist composer Stepan Jrbashyan.

7 teachers working and 60 children studied in the school during the first academic year. That time the school had only three classes - piano, violin and cello. Currently, the musical tuitions is carried out for almost all musical instruments: folk instruments, vocal, various ensembles, choir classes, jazz band, even drawing, dance and musical-theatric performances groups.

The best students of the school - winners of national and international competitions and festivals attended the gala concert dedicated to the school’s anniversary. Hautboy and violin, cello and clarinet, piano and choir- young solo singers and players worthy performed on the stage of the concert hall.
