Young Musicians Concert

On February 10, 2016 the concert hall of Komitas Museum-Institute hosted a concert of the participants of the “Target program of development and improvement of young and talented musicians of the Republic of Armenia and Nagorno–Karabakh”.

The aim of the program is to identify and support talented musicians between the ages of 11 and 20 years old studying in the field of “piano”, “violin” and “cello”.

It includes a number of complex activities the implementation of which will contribute to the competitiveness of the Armenian performing school on the international stage and forming the base for the natural change of generations in the field of classical performing arts.

All the participants were given professional advice during private lessons and master classes by the invited experts and advisors. 15 participants of the program have been involved in about 100 different events, such as competitions, festivals and concerts. Many of them became winners of national and international competitions.

A concert is a kind of review of the implemented work which was presented by the head of the program, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, laureate of International competitions pianist A.Babakhanyan.

At the end of the concert RA Minister of Culture H.Poghosyan greeted the young musicians, teachers and parents. H.Poghosyan noted with appreciation the brilliant performances and numerous competition victories of our talented children on local and foreign scenes. “I want to thank all the teachers who selflessly work with our talented children guiding them along their difficult journey to achieve success in the arts” said the Minister of Culture.
