Music instruments for schools

Music instruments for schoolsSince 2007 RA Ministry of Culture has been successfully carrying out a program on “Compensation of the payment of tuition fees for national instruments in music and art schools”; within its framework 2443 students receive free education. As a result of implementation of the program, departments of national, string and wind instruments were re-opened in a number of community schools.

Research results and special auditions held by the RA Ministry of Culture in 2013, showed that a lack of available musical instruments in schools and their deterioration had negative impact on the educational process in the cultural and educational institutions.

After analyzing the situation, the Ministry of Culture took a new initiative in 2013. A special program was implemented - "Foundation of musical instruments for music and art schools in the republic," and 73 musical instruments were purchased within its framework: 4 violins, 3 cellos, 5 violas, 1 oboe, 2 trombones, 2 bassoons, 10 trumpets, 3 French horns and more than forty national instruments.

On March 14, 2014 presentation of the program was held in the great hall of Yerevan Secondary Special Music School after Tchaikovsky. All the purchased musical instruments were given to those schools whose students were selected through special auditions conducted by the program coordinator – “Support Fund for cultural education”.
